November 2008

Hello all and welcome newcomers:My intern Ian Capiluto has finished his stint at our Library, so the cataloging speed is slower. I have two more interns from San Jose State University coming in January, though, so we will get back up to speed. I am pleased to have our new historian, Mitchell Bishop, on staff. He will have the library open Sunday afternoons from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. This is a great benefit to our weekend customers. My volunteers, Pam Wolken and Barbara Zaias, have been working hard getting the magazine and nursery catalog records into the online catalog. Take a look. Do a search for the word ‘periodicals’ and you will see the richness of the collection. Right now we have 509 periodical titles in the catalog! My favorite new periodical title is Aloe, the newsletter of the South African Aloe and Succulent Society. The link is to the catalog is below.Arboretum Library Online CatalogThis link below is to the new books, articles, and websites lists for November.
