About This Event
The American Ceramic Society of Southern California’s festival features unique handcrafted gift ware and art work by ceramic artists from Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and Ventura counties. There will be raffles throughout each day and demonstrations by ceramic artists, Yvette Franklin and Stefani Gruenberg. Proceeds from this show will benefit the Los Angeles Arboretum Foundation and the ACS-DC Scholarship Fund.
Stefani Gruenberg studied ceramics with Laura Andreson at UCLA in 1958 and with Toshiko Takaezu at the Cleveland Institute of Art in 1959. Her work is in the permanent collection of the Cleveland Museum of Art and in the permanent collection of the American Museum of Ceramic Art (AMOCA) 2011. She was the featured Artist at American Museum of Ceramic Art “AMOCA” “The Art of Clay”,2011. She was the Featured Artist in two shows at Gumps “California Craft Artist”2006 and “EQ” 2011. Her work was shown in windows of Tiffany & Co. in Beverly Hills 1993 and Tiffany an Co. in South Coast Plaza and at Gumps in San Francisco 2004 to present.
Yvette Franklin is a ceramist with over 20 years of experience, her newest work is wheel thrown and hand built porcelain fired to cone 10 (2,300 degrees F). With her hand crafted brushes, she uses under-glazes to hand paint flowers, fish, and oriental style calligraphy. She has exhibited at the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria, VA and the Beatrice Wood Center of the Arts in Ojai, CA.
