Enjoy live music on select Friday nights featuring a variety of family-friendly entertainment and popular local bands! Begin the weekend with a relaxing picnic with family and friends. Gates open at 5pm; concert begins at 6pm.
July 15: Rushingwind & The Native Groove – Native World Flute Music
Steven Rushingwind is an indigenous flute musician who intertwines the voice of his flute with other indigenous instruments, creating a unique fusion of contemporary Native Jazz/blues fusion sound.
July 22: Polly & Andrew make fun and smart music for children and families across the country. They are the hosts of Ear Snacks, a radical new podcast, and their self-produced album “Odds & Eds” received a Parents” Choice Award in 2015.
August 5: Whiskey Sunday plays traditional Irish tunes and ballads as well as a unique brand of revved up Americana and folk storytelling. Instrumentation includes Celtic-electric harp, fiddle, mandolin, bodhran, guitar, banjo, stand-up bass and flute. And even Irish dancing.
August 12: Cunao is a group of multi-ethnic musicians. They use their South American background to create evocative, poetic songs that transcent time. They put a global twist on their sound by exploring African rhythms, eastern European melodies and American rock aesthetics.
Don’t forget to explore the Arboretum during our morning hours at 7:30am.
