Transforming Fallen Trees into Beautiful Art
More than 75 generous and highly accomplished artists have come together in an exhibition on the anniversary of the catastrophic windstorm that struck San Gabriel Valley a year ago. Proceeds raised by the sale of the artwork will benefit the Arboretum Tree Fund, contributing to the purchase of new trees and restoring the haven the Arboretum has provided and will continue to provide for future generations.

Sixteen students from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena recently presented specially designed art pieces made from wood salvaged from trees toppled by last December’s windstorm. A few of their creations, which included clocks, lamps, a croquet mallet, a wine holder, a cheese board, jewelry and other decorative items, are on display in the Arboretum Library.
