The Los Angeles Arboretum Foundation is seeking individuals capable of delivering the highest quality of customer service to visitors, members, volunteers, clients and all who visit the Los Angeles County Arboretum in Arcadia.   Positions available are full-time and part –time, salaries range from $10 to $17 per hour.   Job duties will include admissions, customer services and communications.  Ideal candidate will have experience in those three areas and demonstrate excellent judgment and be able to thrive in a team environment.  As the Arboretum is open 364 days a year, positions will work weekends and holidays.

ON CALL TOUR GUIDE

The Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden is looking for an experienced tour guide to conduct tours of the Arboretum on an on-call basis.  The ideal candidate will be comfortable in giving presentations and responding to inquiries from tour participants about the grounds and any current exhibits.

The working environment includes exposure to noise, odors, drafts, variable outside temperatures and occasional inclement weather.  He or she is required to conduct tours on foot or by driving a County vehicle, such as a 22-passenger bus or a 42–passenger tram, transporting guests during weddings and special events including some evenings.  Maintains order and has responsibility for public safety and protection of Los Angeles County property.  Prepares reports and publicity and answers routine correspondence.  Makes minor repairs and performs light maintenance duties of the vehicle, such as putting air in the tires, and checking fuel and oil levels. Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team is strongly preferred.

Six months of experience conducting tours or giving information to the public concerning exhibits or activities at a park, museum recreation center and other educational or recreational facility preferred.  Valid California Class B Driver’s License required. 
On call position with some weekday morning and weekend tours. Salary DOE
