Let’s Move!

at the Arboretum

The Arboretum is joining First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move national effort to encourage children to eat healthy and exercise regularly.  With miles of walking paths, outdoor programs and plans for two new vegetable gardens, the Arboretum is the perfect place to get kids eating greens and burning calories.

Kid friendly activities for Let’s Move include self-guided walking activities such as the Serpent Safari Trail and the Let's Move Hunt, and guided outdoor classes designed to get kids discovering and having fun at the Arboretum.

The Peacock Café has joined in to make it healthier to eat at the Arboretum.  A new children's menu and introduction to the USDA’s new MyPlate guidelines will be featured in the Café.  To see the MyPlate guidelines Click Here.

Exercise and healthy eating is not just for kids.  We have activities for grownups such as our first walking map called Extreme Arboretum, food gardening and cooking classes. Our two new food gardens will give you inspiration to grow your own food.
