This innovative theater production will be unlike anything you’ve even seen. Audiences will physically follow three different plots through a literary labyrinth of clues and misdirection featuring Sherlockian mainstays, new characters, and a host of theatrical surprises. Staged all around the Santa Anita Train Depot.
Led by neurologist and Arboretum volunteer, Dr. Robert Tager, discover what your brain needs to function at its peak and how the Arboretum can help. After a brief introduction to memory, learning and the brain, tour through the Arboretum to discover ways of preserving and enhancing brain function.
The Southern California Iris Society presents tall bearded, small bearded and aril-bred irises. Members will be available to answer cultural questions.
The Los Angeles Arboretum Foundation is proud to host the Lucky Baldwin Poker Tournament on the historic grounds of the Arboretum. Set under the starry night sky on the lawn of the Queen Anne Cottage, the festivities include cocktails, dinner, games, auction, entertainment and poker tournament. The fun filled evening will raise funds for the restoration and preservation of the Arboretum’s historic structures (Queen Anne Cottage, Coach Barn, Reid-Baldwin Adobe and Santa Anita Depot).
The Los Angeles International Fern society presents displays of ferns and other exotic plants at their finest. Vendors of plants and garden related items will be located at the front of Ayres Hall. Informative lectures with be on both days with “opportunity” drawings throughout each day.
