Early 20th Century Fruit & Vegetable Seed Catalogs of Southern California: 1930 - 1939

Plant and Eat Vegetables for Health!
Many catalogs promoted the health benefits of having your own garden as in this example from Aggeler & Musser's 1937 catalog.  Click on the thumbnails to see an enlarged photo.

Nursery and seed companies also liked to encourage the growing of certain crops as this example from Knott's Berry Place shows how the new boysenberries will be moneymakers.

These examples from Armstrong Nurseries' 1936  and 1937 catalogs also reveal the new interest in boysenberries.
