2022 Gala: What a Swell Party!
Thanks to all for making our gala a swinging success! While we had high hopes for our first post-COVID fundraising event, you – our friends and, especially, our generous sponsors – ensured we broke all records. Not only were prior fundraising totals smashed, but the event was sold out!
Bill Lincoln, Dan Foliart, and Richard Schulhof, our three exceptional honorees, were also delighted and enjoyed the festivities. All guests experienced a fun-filled evening in the garden, under the stars and bistro lights. Fine dining, retro-inspired and delicious, was accompanied by cool music from the Great American Songbook. Live entertainment, Frank-Sinatra style, along with dancing and appearances by internationally-noted musicians, added to the high-spirited event.
We are immensely grateful for this support, which will go directly toward impactful education programming and the care of our gardens and landmark structures. One ant may move a rubber tree plant, as the “High Hopes” song goes, but the Los Angeles Arboretum Foundation is truly fortunate to have an army of ants. It’s all the better for our beloved garden that we have supporters, like you! Thank you, again, for your generosity and belief in our mission.
Our next gala is already in the works, and the date is set for Saturday, October 14, 2023. Return to this page next year for further updates. If you have any questions, please contact Judith Hamilton-Márquez at 626.566.3707 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.

About our Honorees
Our trio of honorees are stalwart Arboretum friends who have left a lasting imprint on the Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden. Bill Lincoln joined the Los Angeles Arboretum Foundation Board of Trustees in 2014 and served as President for four years. His business acumen as a finance professional resulted in the expansion of Arboretum earned-income opportunities and a steady financial picture. Dan Foliart, a prolific composer for television, served as President of the Foundation Board from 2015-2018, having been a member since 2012. His tenure was marked by energetic efforts to care for the irreplaceable historic landmarks and collections here, which included securing funds to help renovate Baldwin Lake. Richard Schulhof, the Foundation’s Chief Executive Officer since 2009, holds advanced degrees in forestry and botanic garden administration. He has worked to transform the Arboretum into a world-class public garden by creating new gardens and capital projects to enhance the visitor experience. The Arboretum is fortunate to have such dedicated leaders, who have realized some high hopes indeed!
