Oil & Acrylic Painting

The classes are taught by Ron Pettie, Master Artist and Art Coach. He encourages in bringing out the inner artist in all of us.

Saturdays:      4 weeks     July 8 – July 29

9:00am – 11:30am

Outdoor Plein Aire Painting—Acrylic (1 – 2 paintings)

Ages 16 to adult, basic to advanced level

All basic materials supplied.

Meet at the Oak Room for 30 min orientation. The class will then head to the Arboretum waterfall area to set up our easels. The second class meeting will be at the Oak room where you will finish your painting using a photograph of your subject. The third class meeting will be at the primeval forest. The fourth class meeting will be at the Oak room.

Ages 12 to adult, basic to advanced level

Will need to bring one large close-up head shot and a full body shot of your pet – dogs, cats, or significant other pet (snakes, hamsters, rats, gerbils)

Students can use the grid system of sketching or photo projection onto their 11×14 canvas to outline. Includes snack break.

Exploring the beauty of the Arboretum

Ages 12 to adult, basic to advanced level

Students can use the grid system of sketching or photo projection onto their 11×14 canvas to outline. Can include display of artwork in two art gallery shows to gain gallery experience. Includes snack break and an art seminar.
