She is keenly interested in bringing sustainable practices to the Arboretum community.
Leigh Adams, second from left, has guided installations at the Arboretum, Rancho Santa Botanical Garden, L.A. County Natural History Museum and Pasadena Public Schools. An active leader in the urban sustainable agriculture movement, Adams coordinates community participation in Crescent Farm.
John Latsko’s love of California native and food plants originally brought him to Crescent Farm. He especially enjoys working with young people and sharing information about Crescent Farm. His background is in education, primarily teaching English and arts to elementary through adult students.
Yara Herrarte, far right, is an artist and California naturalist with a love of botany, horticulture, entomology and mycology. She is currently completing her teaching certification and wants to focus on nature education. Her aim is to inspire our younger generation, not only to be conscious of their environment but to also recognize themselves as important voices in our society as a whole.
