How do I purchase tickets?

You can purchase your tickets online via Eventbrite.
Tickets are also available to purchase at the Arboretum Membership Office.

When are tickets available to purchase?

Online tickets are on presale now for Arboretum Members.
Moonlight Forest will be on sale to public September 7th.

What if I can’t use my ticket?

Moonlight Forest is a rain-or-shine event. Tickets are not refundable.

Can I change the date of my tickets?

Choose your date carefully!
Refunds for date changes are ONLY available for presale tickets through September 6th.
After September 6th ticket change requests will be subject to a fee and depend on availability.

I have a problem/question with my ticket purchase. Who do I contact?

Please go to “Contact Organizer” at the check-out page of your purchase on Eventbrite.

I am late for the time I purchased my ticket for. Can I still enter the festival?

You have a 30-minute grace period after the entry time you purchased your tickets for. i.e. If you purchased tickets for 5:30pm, the latest you can enter the festival is 6.00pm. We strongly advise you plan on arriving at the venue 15 minutes prior to your entry time, spare enough time for parking and going through ticket/security check.

Can I see the Moonlight Forest both during the day and at night with one ticket purchase?

Moonlight Forest and Arboretum admissions are separate.
Moonlight Forest is an event with live performances and light installations that are best viewed at night. Moonlight Forest admissions start at 5:30pm
If you visit the Arboretum during the day regular Arboretum admission prices apply. The Arboretum is open 9am to 5pm with admissions closing at 4:30pm daily.
The Arboretum opens at 8am for members.

Does Moonlight Forest do Group Sales?

Group sales for companies and private parties are available for groups of 50 or more. Please email or call 626.821.3222 for more information.

The date I want is sold out. Can I buy tickets at the box office, day of?

If the date you want to attend is sold out, cheer up! Because you can still visit the festival if you use a rideshare app such as LYFT or UBER to get to the Arboretum. All you need to do is to present your ride receipt showing the date and time of your visit at the box office and you can purchase up to 4 tickets.

What if a friend or family member drops me off? Can I still buy a ticket?

No. Sold-Out Day Sales are only available for rideshare apps.


How long is the walkthrough Moonlight Forest?

The exhibition route is a gentle 1 mile long and takes about 1 hour to walk through. This is a walking event, there are no shuttles or vehicles.

Can I touch the lanterns on display?

The lanterns are considered works of art. Please do not touch, sit or climb on the displays.

Is there ADA access at the Moonlight Forest?

It is accessible for strollers, wheelchairs, and mobility assistance devices. Wheelchairs are not provided.

Is there food and drinks? May I bring food from outside?

There is a great selection of food trucks and multiple bars at the festival site.
Outside food and beverages are not permitted.

May I take photos?

Yes! Please use hashtag #MoonlighForestLA – We want to see your photos! While waiting for that perfect shot please do not block pathways or the view of others. Photographs and videos are not to be used for commercial purposes.

Will I be able to take my personal event photos i.e. engagement, wedding, quinceañera, pregnancy photos while the lanterns are up? Would I need to pay the $50 permit?

Some areas will be off limits, but the permit will still apply. Due to the Arboretum closing, no permits will be given after 3:30pm. Please note the Arboretum will be closed at 5:00pm

May I bring a pet to Moonlight Forest?

No. The Arboretum does not allow animals, except for ADA-designated service animals. No bikes or running please, as this is a walking event only.

Am I allowed to smoke during Moonlight Forest?

Smoking is not permitted in the exhibition or anywhere on the Arboretum grounds.

May I drop off my teenage kids?

No, visitors under 18 of age must always be accompanied by an adult.


Is there parking at the event?

There is limited parking on site. Street parking IS NOT available at any time. We highly recommend you use a rideshare service such as LYFT or UBER. Put in “Moonlight Forest Depot Lot Parking” to go to the drop off location for rideshare services.

There are three different parking lots at the Arboretum available for festival parking. Click on the links below for directions to each parking lot.

What is the parking charge?

Parking at the Arboretum is free.


I am a Los Angeles Arboretum member; do I have to pay?

Los Angeles Arboretum Members are eligible for a 15% discount on their ticket purchase for a limited time.

Does Moonlight Forest have any discounts?

Yes, for Arboretum members. Find out how to become a member.

May I become a member and then be eligible for the discount?

Yes. Sign up to become a member.
After signing up, you will receive the new member discount code to purchase tickets.

Is there a limit to how many tickets I may purchase as an Arboretum Member?

Yes, there is a total 6 ticket limit per purchase whether you are a member or not. You may make more than one purchase.

As a member, can I purchase tickets for non-members?

Yes, up to 6 tickets.

I am a member of a reciprocal garden through the American Horticultural Society. Do I receive the member discount?

No, only Arboretum members receive the special evening discount.
