Just For Kids & Families

The Arboretum has a wonderful variety of activities and learning experiences for families and kids of all ages. You and your children can take adventure hikes, learn about the creatures that make The Arboretum their home, plants and gardening, and have a chance to express your artistic side! All of this set within the beautiful Los Angeles County Arboretum & Botanic Garden!

Arboretum Summer Nature Camp

The Arboretum Summer Nature Camp is a chance for your child to experience the wonders of nature through outdoor, hands-on experiences. Our adventure-packed sessions are spent hiking through the 127 acre Los Angeles Arboretum and Botanic Garden discovering the amazing animals and plants from around the world found here. Your child will get to discover the science behind gardening, cook with fresh organic veggies from the children’s gardens, and explore their creative side with nature crafts. Our small counselor to student ratio ensures that your child will experience summer fun in a safe and personal environment.

KidsArt at the The Arboretum

Help develop attention, ability, and self-confidence. KidsArt teaches drawing so that students have the opportunity to learn fundamental skills. Students learn how to “see” in a new way. KidsArt teaches students how to measure with the eye,how to break something into its parts and put it back together again to make a whole picture. Students are shown that what may look difficult to draw at first glance, is really simple once they learn to see it piece by piece.
